Twist and Measure

Designer: Zach Stephens
School: Westfield High School
Location: Carmel, Indiana

After watching my mom cook many things during my childhood, I have learned many lessons. One important lesson I have learned from her is that you must have the correct measurements of ingredients. Too much or too little of an ingredient could spell disaster for the best of recipes. I have engineered a measuring cup that will make measuring ingredients simpler and more accurate. The Twist-n-Measure features a dial on the bottom which raises an elevator-like bottom. You simply twist the bottom to raise or lower the elevator to your desired measurement. Then you fill the measuring cup up to the top edge and you are ready to add it to your delicious recipe. Also, if you are measuring something such as peanut butter, which is sticky and messy, all you have to do is measure it, and then twist the bottom to push it out. This means you don’t have to use a spoon to scoop out the peanut butter from the cup. If you are cooking, it is handy to have the Twist-n-Measure in your kitchen.
