Off-Road Cell Phone Carrier

I want to create a waterproof case for a cell phone that will be used on a dirt bike. Yes, cell phones are needed while riding a dirt bike. Many times while riding, I have been many miles from civilization (once in AZ., it was over 25mi.) and experienced injury or more commonly mechanical failure. Having a cell phone with you can literally be life saving. Riding pants do not have pockets. Some riders carry a small backpack or some other small bag with tools, parts, phone, etc. Cell phones get damaged in these soft cases. I would like to end this quandary.

I envision a band-aid sized box clamped to either upper fork tube on a motorcycle. The box would clamp on the inner part of the fork directly behind the number plate. A well-made carrier placed in this area is surprisingly a very safe idea. The interior of the case would preferably have a rubber type lining, to help with any shock produced by the ride. After placing the phone inside, a small piece of foam or even a few tissues should be placed on top, to minimize any movement inside. This will assist in reducing any shock transmitted to the phone. The carrier could be produced to accommodate specific sized phones but I really feel that a universal style case would be better. Besides, tissues are always handy to have around. I really believe that this inexpensive to make carrier could save off-road riders a good amount of money. A new cell phone can cost a lot of cash.
