New, Lower Prices For Dimension Printers

First 3D Printer to Break $20,000 Price Barrier; Price Reductions Bring 3D Printing to More Engineers and Designers

MINNEAPOLIS — Jan. 18, 2006 — The Dimension 3D Printing Group, a business unit of Stratasys, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSYS), announced today its Dimension® BST 3D printer will now sell for $18,900, and its Dimension® SST 3D printer will now sell for $24,900, both $6,000 and $5,000 less than their respective previous prices. The Dimension BST is the industry’s first 3D printer to be priced less than $20,000, a significant milestone that enables a wider range of manufacturers, engineers and designers access to 3D printing technology.

“These price reductions bring us even closer to our goal of making 3D printers as common in engineering and design offices as laser printers and jet printers are today,” said Jon Cobb, vice president and general manager of 3D printing for Stratasys. “We are pleased to offer affordable, industry leading 3D printing technology that incorporates many key features found in modeling systems that cost tens of thousands of dollars more.”

Dimension BST and SST 3D printers build functional 3D prints from the bottom-up, one layer at a time. The software imports STL files and automatically slices and orients the part, creates necessary support structures and plots a precise deposition path for the 3D printer to follow. Whereas the Dimension BST requires users to manually remove support pieces, Dimension SST provides a cleanstation that quickly and easily removes soluble supports, thereby enabling “hands-free” 3D printing.

In addition to targeting traditional manufacturing markets such as aerospace, automotive and equipment, the Dimension 3D Printing Group has expanded the concept modeling marketplace, continuing to secure sales in vertical industries including education, architecture, consumer products and packaging, and industrial design.

About The Dimension 3D Printing Group

The Dimension 3D Printing Group is a business unit of Stratasys, Inc., based in Minneapolis, Minn. Dimension 3D printers – which include the Dimension BST and the Dimension SST – are networked, desktop modeling systems that provide CAD (Computer-Aided-Design) users a fast, office-friendly, low-cost alternative for building functional 3D prints. Dimension 3D printers build accurate models layer by layer using durable ABS plastic, allowing users to not only evaluate design concepts, but test 3D prints for functionality, form and fit. As the first desktop 3D printer that sells for less than $20,000, Dimension incorporates many key features found in modeling systems that cost tens of thousands of dollars more.
