Dimension Sets New Sales Record

Wohlers Report 2006 indicates steep demand for 3D printer technology through 2010

MINNEAPOLIS, June 6, 2006 – The Dimension 3D Printing Group, a business unit of Stratasys, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSYS), today announced it is the first 3D printing technology provider to ship more than 1,000 3D printers in one year, according to the recently issued Wohlers Report 2006.

Published by Wohlers Associates, Inc. and recently released at the annual Society of Manufacturing Engineers’ Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing 2006 Conference and Exposition in St. Charles, Ill., the report offers a detailed review and analysis of the rapid prototyping and 3D printing industry.

According to the report, Dimension shipped nearly 42 percent of the 2,528 3D printer units sold worldwide in 2005. The entire rapid prototyping and 3D printing industry, which includes products and services, grew 14.6 percent to an estimated $808.5 million in 2005, up from $705.2 million generated in 2004.

Revenues generated by 3D printer sales were up 35.2 percent in 2005, according to the report, making 3D printers the fastest growing segment of the industry. The report also states the market demand for 3D printers could reach 15,000 units annually by 2010.

“The Dimension 3D Printing Group has achieved a significant milestone by shipping more than 1,000 3D printers last year, demonstrating the industry’s rapid adoption of affordable, high quality 3D printing technologies,” said Jon Cobb, vice president of 3D printing for Stratasys. “All signs point to even greater demand for 3D printing technology worldwide in the years to come.”

Dimension recently introduced the Dimension® 1200 Series, the industry’s first large-format 3D printers priced less than $30,000. The Dimension BST 1200 and SST 1200 are priced $21,900 and $29,900, respectively. The company also recently announced price reductions for the Dimension® 768 Series. The 768 Series includes a newly designed exterior, and utilizes upgraded Catalyst EX software. The Dimension BST 768 and SST 768 are priced $18,900 and $24,900, respectively.

Dimension’s 1200 and 768 Series 3D Printers use durable ABS plastic, allowing users to test 3D prints for functionality, form and fit. The Dimension SST models include all the functionality of the BST models, but incorporate an automated soluble support removal system, which gives users greater convenience in the design process by reducing engineering time and enabling the development of prototypes with more complex design geometries.

About The Dimension 3D Printing Group

The Dimension 3D Printing Group is a business unit of Stratasys, Inc., based in Minneapolis, Minn. Dimension 3D printers – which include the Dimension 1200 and Dimension 768 Series – are networked, desktop modeling systems that provide CAD (Computer-Aided-Design) users a fast, office-friendly, low-cost alternative for building functional 3D prints. Dimension 3D printers build accurate models layer by layer using durable ABS plastic, allowing users to not only evaluate design concepts, but test 3D prints for functionality, form and fit. As the first large format desktop 3D printer that sells for less than $30,000, Dimension incorporates many key features found in modeling systems that cost tens of thousands of dollars more.
